Ollie-: There are many variations on how to do the ollie, many people create their own special way of doing the ollie, I suggest you should do the same. Actually if you play close attention to how pros do their ollie you'll find it's different than how all the books and magazines tell you. 1) First get on your board, you should have your back foot on the tail and your front foot preferably on the first batch of bolts, but remember that it's up to you and the ollie won't work unless you feel comfortable on the board. 2)This is a very important aspect of the trick, bend down as far as you can while on the board, but it's important you feel like springing back up while in this position, it's best to warm up your muscles, this way when you do spring up you don't rip a vain or something. 3) Okay, so your on the board and crouching down. Now get ready to jump up into the air. Count to three and kind of bounce, once you reach three slam down onto the tail with your back foot and jump into the air. It's important that you suck your legs into your chest. 4) Extend your legs a little and kick sideways with your front foot, now a point a lot of people forget is that when you kick you should also drag, so it's like your doing a flying kick, but don't actually do a flying kick, just drag your front foot while keeping the back foot higher than the front. 5) You should now position your feet on the board and prepare for the landing, once you do land bend your knees so you absorb the landing. Note: Remember the ollie is a seriously hard trick, it took me a long period of time to learn it so be very patient. And if it helps try learning it on a rug or something, it stops the board moving to much which make you lose balance! Another point is when you crouch down, bend your KNEE'S only, not your back and all, I discovered today it gives a lot more pop! |
Kickflip:-
Note: If it helps when you catch the board slam down, it should increase your balance. |
Heelflip:-

180 Ollie:-
Note: Sorry if this doesn't help much but the thing is most tricks can't be taught, you have to learn them by your self, just remember the point's I've given to you and try finding your own technique incorporating the points, it helps with all tricks. |
Boneless The boneless is an old school trick but still it can be used today, 20 years ago a boneless was the equivalent to an ollie today.
Note: There are so many variations of this trick it's next to impossible to give a standard version of it, it is very hard trick though, although to about 1/3 of people it comes as naturally as having a shit. Soon I'll be having pictures of how to do the tricks so keep checking back. |
Boneless +'s Like I said above this was the ollie of old school tricks, so it has stuff like 'Boneless Kickflip's. Here how to do them. (Read how to do the boneless
OR
2. 180/360 Boneless
Note: Actually doing a 180 Boneless feels more natural than doing just a normal boneless, so if your having trouble doing the boneless trying going up a slanted drive and do a 180 boneless and go back down.

No Comply:- So what's a no comply, well it's another way of getting the board into the air without ollieing, it's no substitute though, however it's a bit easier and a lot more fun, plus when your learning grinds this will help you get the feeling of ollieing into a grind, so when you do attempt to ollie onto a handrail, you know what to expect.
Note: Much like the boneless doing a 180 no comply is easier and more natural. If your doing a grind, then once the board has reached whatever it's grinding is when you put your back foot onto the board. |
